Do these new Doctor Who Christmas pictures reveal a secret callback to the 50th anniversary special?

Could Twice Upon a Time finally fill in this Day of the Doctor plot hole?
When it was revealed that David Bradley was bringing the First Doctor back to Doctor Who this Christmas, many fans immediately leapt to one conclusion – that this could mean a return to the storyline of 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor, which saw every incarnation of the Time Lord unite to save Gallifrey including Peter Capaldi’s not-yet-debuted Twelfth Doctor.
Everything you need to know about the Doctor Who Christmas special 2017
There’s a subtle callback to Steven Moffat’s very first Doctor Who story in the Christmas special
Pearl Mackie was originally not going to be in the Doctor Who 2017 Christmas special
You remember – it was this scene.
Anyway, Capaldi’s appearance in the 2013 episode has never been shown in the main series since he took over the role, so some began to wonder if his final episode this Christmas would fill in that niggling plot hole. After all, the First Doctor (who also appeared in the 50th) is in the Christmas special too – so who’s to say that the episode couldn’t include the pair travelling together through time to join those events, capping off the era of showrunner Steven Moffat in grand style and also neatly tying Peter Capaldi’s final appearance in with his first?
However, as we get nearer and nearer to the Christmas episode’s debut this fan theory is looking less and less likely. Of the footage we’ve seen and information we’ve been given, nothing points towards any Day of the Doctor tie-ins – but now, some newly-released pictures from Twice Upon a Time do seem to contain a secret connection between the episodes.
Take a look at this Christmas special shot of David Bradley in the First Doctor’s Tardis. As many fans have pointed out these hexagonal wall decorations weren’t actually found in the original Tardis control room, whose walls were instead adorned with a larger, circular design.
However, while the hexagons might not be the same as the 1960s Doctor Who series Tardis, we have actually seen them before: in the closing moments of the 50th anniversary special.
In those final scenes, Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor meets a mysterious figure called The Curator, played by Fourth Doctor actor Tom Baker. And on the wall behind them in the gallery? Those very same hexagon roundels, albeit at a slightly different angle.
So what could this mean? Well, when The Day of the Doctor first aired many fans speculated that the gallery The Curator tended to could be some future version of the Tardis, partially based on the presence of those hexagonal decorations (which looked quite Tardis-y even then).
Now we can see these hexagons in the Christmas special – is there a connection? Maybe the Tardis kept that design in storage all this time, and accidentally gave Doctors 12 and One a sneak preview of its future Curator-based design (it’s previously been noted in the series that the Tardis already has unused control rooms ready).
Or maybe it’s more of a visual clue from Moffat and the production team that Baker’s Curator might mean more to the Doctor than first appeared, while also paying tribute to modern Who’s grandest hour (the anniversary special itself) in a more subtle way than just having the two Doctors fly off to hang out with Matt Smith et al.
Of course, maybe this is just an example of the production team merely reusing a bit of old set to help create their new ‘old’ Tardis. However, that would be forgetting the fact that two years ago the series actually brought back ANOTHER original Tardis – one stolen by the Doctor and Jenna Coleman’s Clara – which only had the normal, rounded wall decorations.
Surely if they WERE going to reuse old sets, that more recent example would be an easier target? Either way, why they included it – and what it could mean for the Christmas special – remains mysterious for the time being.
Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time airs on BBC1 on Christmas Day (Monday 25th December) at 5.30pm

Time Person Of The Year

Time Person Of The Year

Person of the Year (called Man of the Year or Woman of the Year until 1999) is an annual issue of the United States news magazine Time that features and profiles a person, a group, an idea, or an object that "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year".
Background:

The tradition of selecting a "Man of the Year" began in 1927, with Time editors contemplating the news makers of the years. The idea was also an attempt to remedy the editorial embarrassment earlier that year of not having aviator Charles Lindbergh on its cover following his historic trans-Atlantic flight. By the end of the year, it was decided that a cover story featuring Lindberg as the Man of the Year would serve both purposes.

Malik Bin Dinar and the Thief

Malik Bin Dinar and the Thief

A burglar scaled the wall of Maalik Bin Dinar's house one night and easily managed to get inside. Once inside the house, the thief was disappointed to see nothing worth stealing. Maalik was busy performing prayer. Realizing he was not alone, he quickly ended his prayer and turned around to face the thief.

Without showing any signs of shock or scare, Maalik calmly extended greetings of peace and said, "My brother, may Allah forgive you. You entered my home and found nothing worth taking, yet I do not want you to leave without taking away some benefit."

He went in another room and came back with a jug full of water. He looked into the eyes of the burglar and said,

"Make ablution and perform two units of prayer, for if you do so, you will leave my home with a greater treasure than you had initially sought."

Humbled by Maalik's manners and words, the thief said, "Yes, that is a generous offer indeed."

After making ablution and performing two units of prayer, the burglar said, "O Maalik, would you mind if I stayed for a while, for I want to stay to perform two more units of prayer?"

Maalik said, "Stay for whatever amount of prayer Allah decrees for you to perform now."

The thief ended up spending the entire night at Maalik's house. He continued to pray until morning. Then Maalik said, "Leave now and be good."

But instead of leaving, the thief said, "Would you mind if I stayed here with you today, for I have made an intention to fast?"

"Stay as long as you wish," Maalik said.

The burglar ended up staying for a number of days, praying during the late hours of each night and fasting in the day. When he finally decided to leave, the burglar said, "O Maalik, I have made a firm resolve to repent for my sins and for my former way of life."

Maalik said, "That is in the Hand of Allah."

The man did mend his ways and began to lead a life of righteousness and obedience to Allah. Later on, he came across another burglar who asked him, "Have you found your treasure yet?"

He replied, "My brother, what I found is Maalik Bin Dinar. I went to steal from him, but it was he who ended up stealing my heart. I have indeed repented to Allah, and I will remain at the door (of His Mercy and Forgiveness) until I achieve what his obedient, loving slaves have achieved."

Wisdom of Iyas Ibn Muawiyah

A man came to Iyas Ibn Mu'awiyah, a Muslim judge famous for his wisdom, and the following conversation took place between them:

Man: What is the Islamic ruling regarding wine?

Judge: It is Haram (Forbidden).

Man: How about water?

Judge: It is Halal (Permissible).

Man: How about dates and grapes?

Judge: They are Halal.

Man: Why is it that all these ingredients are Halal, and yet when you combine them, they become Haram?

The judge looked at the man and said: If I hit you with this handful of dirt, do you think it would hurt you?

Man: It would not.

Judge: How about if I hit you with this handful of straw?

Man: It would not hurt me.

Judge: How about a handful of water?

Man: It surely would not hurt me.

Judge: How about if I mix them, and let them dry to become a brick, and then hit you with it, would it hurt you?

Man: It would hurt me and might even kill me!

Judge: The same reasoning applies to what you asked me!!

Iyas Ibn Muawiyah Al-Muzani was a tabi'i Qadi (judge) in the 2nd century AH who lived in Basra (modern day Iraq). He was renowned for possessing immense cleverness which became a favourite topic in Arabic folklore.

Sailor, Fish and the King

01

One time it was mentioned that there was a mariner, it was a beautiful place around the river. He
had a very intriguing Parrot.
He was not only beautiful but also told the people about their problems. His reputation was
spread far away. A heart-lover was catching fish that suddenly a beautiful golden fish came to her
net.

When the sailor began to bite her, leave me immediately speaking fish, leave me. It was surprised
to see fish like a normal man talking. As a primarily merciful man was a human being, he got very
kind of golden fish and he left in the water, as soon as he saw the fish suddenly turned into a form
of prey, and he paid attention to him and told me that one Those who had made golden fish with
their magic and said that your fate is if someone caught you and washed or drank, it was good
that I took a good man. Maybe someone else would have beaten me, if I could do any of your
work in life, remember me. I will help you. Say it
He flew

One day, the king of the same country got on the hunt. He was looking for a hunt all day that he
came near the house near the shore. When his soldiers told about this rare stomach, he was
amazed and wanted to see him. The king liked this tremendous lot. He summoned the sackcloth
and said, "Give me this rare Parrot."

It was very troubled that he said that the king, I love this tactics more than my life, how can I give
it to you. Then the king said, "I will make you a palace, but still do not see the vision, then the
king said," I am sure that you answer my two questions, if you can not answer my questions, then
this If you answer, then I will not only live with you, but I will also give you wealth and wealth
that your seven generations will live with a lot of luxury. Suddenly, what are the two questions?
The king said, "My first question is, what is that which is behind each other?" My second question
is what two things are the first 4 then 2 and then 3? The king gave him one week.
Suddenly, hearing the questions of the king came home and began to be disturbed. Every time
she thinks about her two questions. Her nights flew, but she did not get answers to these
questions

Finally, Torta also kept looking at his boss. One day he asked, what is the matter now, let me tell
you the solution to your problem. Dare told him his own problem and said that tomorrow is the
last day and if I do not tell the king the answers to these questions till tomorrow morning, he will
take you forever. Thinking tremendous

Used wisdom and said that he could help with this good heart. After thinking of Fairy, he thought
and remembered it. Early a while appeared. Saiam preached to the king all the events. Fairy told
me about the answers to both questions in a minute, she thanked Fairy and very comforted in the
night.

Early in the morning when every king's arrival reached the scene, he came to the court with him.
The king was thinking that Dare does not answer these questions. Now she will give me my rare
turtles. He asked you bring me answers to both my questions.

Verse replied that you asked the first question which is what is behind each other? He answers
that they are days and nights that are following each other. You asked the second question that
what is the first 4 then 2 and then 3 is the answer, they are human legs. The first person, when a
little child, walks with two hands and two feet, which walks through four things
Then when it grows, it runs with two legs

And when old, he walks through two legs and one basket or three things. The King was astonished to hear this answer.

When he asked that who would tell you these questions, he heard the good heartbreak event. So the king abandoned the decision to get tired and gave much money to the sage
